career:

From Berlin, stayed about 10 months at Buitenzorg (Java), to get acquainted with tropical crops and their cultivation; besides he made researches concerning useful plants.1

 

Collecting localities:

1900. Malay Peninsula: Penang (Botanic Garden), Singapore, Blakang Mati; Sumatra East Coast: Deli; W. Java: Buitenzorg, Tjibodas, Priangan Res., Soebang (Krawang); also paying a visit to Centr. & E. Java.2

 

collections:

Herb. Berl. [B]: 159 nos of useful plants from Hort. Bog.; 393 wood samples in the Show Mus. Berl. He evidently collected weeds too, at least Eryngium foetidum L. from Java, s.n.3
