career:

Went to Java as an Assistant Surgeon for the Chamber Zealand of the East India Company, in 1746. Later Chief Physician at Batavia.

collections:

In the years 1758-59 he collected some plants for N.L. Burman; in Herb Burman = Deless. (= Geneva [G]). Some are mentioned in Burman’s Flora Indica.
