career:

Was educated at the Agricultural College, Wageningen; after some years of practice in Holland, he went to the D.E.I. in 1926, appointed in a private situation at Merbau (Sumatra East Coast); since the end of 1927 Consulting Agriculturist in Government employ, successively stationed at Buitenzorg, Padang (Sum. W. Coast 1928), Kotaradja in N. Sumatra (1928-29), and Makassar in SW. Celebes.
