Curator of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Calcutta, is credited in books with collecting in Penang; but probably what he did was to cultivate plants brought to Calcutta from Penang by others (cf. Burkill in Gard. Bull. Str. Settlem. 4, 1927, nos 4-5).
