career:

Will be M.C. Serrurier (see Cycl. Fl. Mal. I, 1, 1950), the M. probably standing for Mademoiselle. She was educated at Lausanne University and was a private lecturer on French literature at Leiden University from 1913-1934. In the latter year she settled at Nijmegen.

She might be the daughter of L. Serrurier, the founder of the ‘Mij t. bevordering van bet Natuurkundig Onderzoek d. Ned. Koloniën’, who resigned in 1896 as Director of the Ethnological Museum at Leiden, and went to Java as teacher at the Gymnasium Willem III at Batavia. When she presented the collection in 1904, she was living at Lausanne, Switzerland.

 

Collecting localities:

Collected 40 plants (many cultivated) in the Mountain Garden at Tjibodas (slope of G. Gedeh, W. Java) in Oct. 1897.

Presented them to the Herb. Kol. Mus. (= Ind. Inst. Amsterdam) in 1904.
