Born: 1889, Tifoe, S. Boeroe, Moluccas.

 

career:

Indonesian government physician who joined the Franssen Herderschee Expedition to New Guinea (1912-13) (detailed itiner. etc. cf. sub Pulle). When in that island he discovered Dendrobium sitanalae J.J.Sm. near Kloof bivouac (Lorentz River) (Jan. 1913).1 In later years he was attached to the leper hospital at Pelantoengan (Centr. Java); and subsequently Head of the Service for Lepercontest in the D.E.I.

He discovered the above-mentioned Dendrobium, no 11218. We do not know whether he collected still other plants, if so, probably but few. For the Herbaria cf. sub Pulle.
