career:

Botanist, educated at Wageningen Agricultural College and Utrecht University, took his Ph.Dr’s degree at Utrecht in 1919. From 1916-19 Assistant for Technical Botany at Delft, from 1919-41 on the staff of the Cinchona Experiment Station at Tjinjiroean, W. Java.
