Born: 1855, England; 1908. Died: Perak, Malay Peninsula.

 

career:

Planter and then (1895) Forest Officer in Perak, Malay Peninsula; later Deputy Conservator of Forests (1897-1909);1 he collected forest trees in Perak.

Cymbidium stephensii Ridl. was named after him.
