Born: 1894, Amsterdam, Holland.

 

career:

Since 1919 Forest Officer in D.E. Indian Government service; originally stationed in the teak districts of Java. In 1921 transferred to Tandjong Pinang (Riouw Arch.), and in the same year to Bengkalis (E. Sumatra); after a short stay in Java, stationed in Atjeh in July 1926, respectively at Oeloe Lheue and Koetaradja; from 1933-39 at Trenggalek in Kediri,1 and since 1940 in the Head Office of the Forest Service at Buitenzorg; he retired in 1946.

 

Collecting localities and collections:

Herb. Bog. [BO]: material of Rafflesia atjehensis Koord. from Atjeh (N. Sumatra, coll. 1926), and of Dendrobium jacobsonii J.J.Sm. from G. Wilis (E. Java, coll. end 1938).

Herb. For. Res. Inst. Buitenzorg [BZF]: 3 bb. nos from Atjeh (N. Sumatra, 1927), and Ja. nos from Kediri (E. Java, 1938).
