Tammes, Pieter Merkus Lambertus

Born: 1903, Batavia, Java.

 

career:

Botanist, educated at Groningen University, taking his Ph.Dr’s degree in 1930. Subsequently appointed on the staff of the General Agricultural Experiment Station at Buitenzorg (W. Java), being stationed most of the time at the Coconut Experiment Station1 at Manado in N. Celebes; at present stationed at Makasser (SW. Celebes).

His papers are either physiological, or deal with the biology of the coconut and other palms.
