Wind, Evert Jacob

Born: 1891, Apeldoorn, Gld, Holland. Died: 1978, Doorn, Gld, Holland.

 

career:

Forest Officer who joined the D.E. Indian Forest Service in 1917. At first stationed in the teak districts of Java, from 1918-19 at Buitenzorg, since Sept. 1919 in the teak districts of Centr. Java, in 1922 in W. Cheribon-Soemedang, 1925-29 in SE. Borneo (at Kota Baroe and Bandjermasin), subsequently at Buitenzorg; after European leave in 1932/33, replaced at Bandjermasin, and transferred (end 1933) to Palembang (S. Sumatra); in 1936 at Salatiga (Centr. Java); in 1938 appointed Inspector of Forests at Buitenzorg, and in 1941 ditto at Medan (Sum. East Coast); retired in 1947.

 

Collecting localities:

1917. W. Java: G. Mandalagiri (end of Dec.).-1918. W. Java: G. Salak with Kalshoven (Nov. 20); Takokah (Nov. 27), Pengalengan (Dec. 14); Mandalagiri with Kalshoven (Dec. 20-21); about this year collecting in Tegal (Centr. Java) too.
