Born: 1854. Died: 1941.

 

career:

Dutch missionary, of the Utrecht Mission Society, who went to New Guinea in 1882; arrived in New Guinea in Jan. 1883, his first station being P. Roön in the Geelvink Bay. In 1889 he established a missionary station at Windehsi. He resigned in 1913.

 

Collecting localities:

He is cited by Martelli as the collector (wrongly written ‘von’) of Pandanus leiophyllus Martelli n. sp. in a small island near the coast of Winde(h)si, Geelvink Bay, Dutch NW. New Guinea in July 1905 (cf. Webbia 4, 1913, p. 423).
