Brascamp, Engelbert Hendrik Berend

Born: 1876, Olst, O., Holland. Died: 1945, The Hague, Holland (place of death originally with ?, however, correct according to relatives, Pim Brascamp, tineke@brascamp.nl).

 

career:

Estate Assistant (tobacco) in Deli (Sumatra East Coast), 1898-1901; in 1902 appointed Overseer and put at the disposal of the Inspector and Chief of the organization brigade of the D.E. Indian Forest Service. In later years he was appointed Forest Officer in the same service. Since 1906 stationed in the teak districts of Java, in 1919 in the head-office at Buitenzorg; since 1926 again employed in the teak districts, e.g. at Modjokerto, where he was charged besides with the management of Kangean-Madoera District. He retired early in 1932.

He is the author of some papers concerning forestry.1

W. Java: Kandang Badak (July 13, 1924) and summit G. Pangrango (July 14).-Centr. Java: Djokja (July 8, 1927), Pemalang (Sept. 12), Pekalongan desa Soeren (Nov. 12).-E. Java: teak forest (Dec. 23, 1927).
