career:

Eurasian who entered the Forest Service of the Straits Settlements in 1888 and served in Malacca, Singapore (1895-96), and as Forest Inspector in Selangor to 1901.

 

Collecting localities:

1888-1901. Malay Peninsula: Malacca; Negri Sembilan: G. Tampin (1893-94); Selangor: near Kerling (1899), Batu Caves, Rawang, Kuang and Kanching. Apparently in NW. Borneo, Sarawak, too.1

 

collections:

Herb. Sing. [SING]: from Malacca (pres. 1893), from Selangor small collection (pres. 1896) and 240 nos from Selangor (pres. 1899). Dupl. in Herb. Berl. [B]: Malacca plants; Herb. Kew [K], Leiden [L]. He collected material of forest trees for Ridley. Also dupl. from Malaya in Herb. Vienna [W].
