Born: 1900, Wageningen, Gld, Holland.



Was educated at Wageningen Agricultural College; since 1926 Forest Officer in D.E. Indian Government service, at first stationed in the teak districts in Java, in 1928 at Tjilatjap (Centr. Java); in 1929 transferred to Buitenzorg, where since 1931 in charge of forest-hydrological research, starting experiments on G. Patoeha; from 1936-42 in charge of the forest administration of the Lesser Sunda Islands, stationed at Singaradja (Bali); at present at Buitenzorg, Head of the Bureau of Land Utilization.

Author of some papers, mainly relating to forest-hydrology, and of some typed reports on the Lesser Sunda Islands 1937-38.

Herb. Bog. [BO]: mangrove plants from Tjilatjap (Centr. S. Java), nos 1-111a from Sumatra and nos 1-31 from G. Patoeha. Some Ja. nos in Herb. For. Res. Inst. Buitenzorg [BZF], from Tjilatjap and E. Java.
