Born: 1860. Died: 1940.

 

career:

English statesman who travelled in Siam and Honkong; from 1896-1901 Governor of Queensland. He returned to England in 1901 and filled the office of Governor of Bombay from 1903-07.

F.M. Bailey named some plants after him.

 

Collecting localities:

SE. New Guinea: arrival at Port Moresby with Sir W. MacGregor and H.M. Nelson (Apr. 25, 1898); boat tour along the coast (itiner. and liter. cf. sub F.M. Bailey), Lamington making a short cut from Milne Bay to Mullin’s Harbour (May 2).
