Born: 1904, Amsterdam, Holland.

 

career:

Entomologist, studying for several years at Amsterdam University; since 1929 on the staff of the Buitenzorg Zoological Museum, from 1940 onwards Head of that institution.

Author of many entomological papers.

 

Collecting localities:

Karimoendjawa Islands (1930; collected by Karta, see there); W. Java: G. Pantjar (Aug. 1931); S. Sumatra, Lampong Districts (Dec. 1934-Jan. 1935); G. Tanggamoes1 (Jan. 1-2) and the ‘Giesting’; W. Java: Telagasaät (Poentjak) (Febr. 3, 1935); S. Sumatra: Lampong Districts, ‘Giesting’ (end of Dec. 1939).
