Born: 1894, Deventer, O., Holland.



Forest Officer, in 1920 on the staff of the Forest Research Institute, Buitenzorg, and subsequently stationed elsewhere in Java, and for 2 years in Sumatra (Bengkalis, Nov. 1923-25). He retired in 1940.

He was especially interested in mangrove forests.1


Collecting localities:

Centr. Java: Isl. of Noesa Kambangan and near Tjilatjap (Sept. 16-22, 1920); W. Java: Bantam (192 .); Centr. Java (1932).

Hort. Bog.: living plants from mangrove forest, Centr. Java (pres. 1922).



Herb. Bog. [BO]: nos M.1-M.37 from Noesa Kambangan and Tjilatjap, and possibly some dupl. from other localities. Herb. For. Res. Inst. Buitenzorg [BZF]: Ja. nos (partly former M. nos).
