His Java collection was in the possession of the ‘Naturhistorische Verein für die Preussische Rheinlande and Westfalen’, inserted in the ‘Ausserrheinische Herbarium’. In 1936 it was transferred with the said herbarium to Herb. Berl. [B]. Wirtgen in Verb. Nat. Hist. Ver. Preuss. Rheinl. u. Westfalen 64, 1907, Sitz. Ber. E. p. 47-51, does not mention it.

Not collected himself?

Collected a no 53, Cyperus iria L. in Java in 1841. A Gomphandra collected in the same year in Java in Herb. Boiss., Geneva [G].

No news about the identity of the collector was found. Dr F. Markgraf, who formerly sorted out the material for Berlin, does remember that the labels were copied by Treviranus.
