Died: Sept. 18, 1944, drowned o/b s.s. Zyniyo Maru as a Japanese P.O. W.

 

career:

Schoolteacher in Holland, 1914-18; since 1919 in the D.E.I. in the same function. Since August 1932 acting Head of the High School (M. U.L.O.) at Buitenzorg.

 

Collecting localities:

1940-41. S. Sumatra: Lampong Districts, ‘De Giesting’ (1940, July 1941).-W Java: Bodjong Lopang (Djampang Tengah) (1940-41); Doengoes Iwoel (1940-41).

 

collections:

Foster-plants of catterpillars, sent for identification to Herb. Bog. [BO]. For the greater part insufficient material of small importance; some specimens preserved in Herb. Bog. [BO].

In 1940 he presented a living plant from Sumatra to Hort. Bog.
