career:

Was on the staff of the Botanical Gardens, Darwin, Australia, at least from 1924-28; at that time probably in his forties.

He made extensive collections in British Honduras,1 and previously (about 1928) collected plants in New Guinea, Java, and the Dutch East Indies. He came to San Francisco, Cal., from Java, late Jan. 1929.

Through E.D. Merrill he obtained subscribers to his herbarium sets (probably from Br. Honduras only). Many letters are present at the Univ. of California [UC], Michigan [MICH], etc.
