Born: 1861, Batavia, Java. Died: 1919, Batavia, Java.

Originally in the Civil Service, e.g. in Sumatra; since 1910 estate-manager of the land Menteng near Batavia.

Dendrobium schulleri J.J.Sm. was named after him (cf. Backer, Verkl. Woordenb., 1936).

Apparently he was an orchid amateur who bought orchids from Sumatra (cf. also sub Schüller), New Guinea, etc., but did not collect himself. He presented living orchids to Hort. Bog. (e.g. from New Guinea in 1918), and dried material to Herb. Bog. [BO] (1913-16).
