career:

Made a trip into the mountains of Megros (= prob. Negros), Philippines, near the southern end. Though no botanist, he brought home a number of plants, including an, in his opinion new, pitcher plant.1 The data, name, etc., raise strong suspicion that he might be identical with Prof. J.B. Steere (see there).
