Born: 1897, Buitenzorg, Java; 1960. Died: 1960, Wageningen, Gld., Netherlands.

 

career:

Phytopathologist of the Experiment Station for Tobacco at Klaten (Centr. Java), 1929-39; since Nov. 1939 on the staff of the Institute for Plant Diseases at Buitenzorg (W. Java). After World War II he was evacuated to Holland, and returned to Buitenzorg in 1948 as Professor of Phytopathology at the Agricultural College there; since 1949 at Wageningen.

 

Collecting localities:

Centr. Java: Klaten, near Djokjakarta (1934).

 

collections:

In the above-mentioned locality he collected with Miss Kerling (see there) a number of water plants which he forwarded to Dr Walo Koch of the ‘Eidgen. Technische Hochschule’ (Polytechn. Coll.) at Zürich [ZT]. One of them was described by the latter as Najas pseudograminea n.sp. Herb. Bog. [BO]: material of the above-mentioned Najas (pres. by Zürich in 1937); in 1938 2 nos of plants for identification.
