Born: 1884, Hamme, Belgium. Died: 1946, Wibrijk, Belgium.

 

career:

Roman Catholic missionary, from 1910-26 working in Dutch South New Guinea, stationed at Merauke and Okaba. In 1926 he went back to Europe, and since 1927 he is working in the Belgian Congo.

 

collections:

Herb. Bog. [BO]: 95 nos (coll. July 1923), including Stylidium alsinoides, a new record for New Guinea.

Hort. Bog.: living New Guinea plants (pres. 1921-22), including the Australian Amaryllidacea Eur ycles alba (R.Br.) Backer, a new record for the Papuan flora.
