career:

Was an official collector of botanical specimens for the West Australian Government, and acted as Government Botanist. He was an assiduous collector of West Australian plants and in addition published some important papers. He visited New Guinea on a mining proposition.

 

Collecting localities:

He collected in SE. New Guinea, e.g. at Dogura and Yampota (1895),1 and near the Kumusi River (1896).

His collection is > 118 nos. Mr C.T. White supposes the plants to be in Herb. Sydney [NSW]; also at Melbourne [MEL]. Fern dupl. from Melbourne in Kew Herb. [K].
