Born: 1814, Moulins en Gilbert, Nièvre, France.

 

career:

Medical officer of the voyage to the Antarctic regions in the ‘Astrolabe’ and ‘Zélée’ (1837-40) (itiner., liter. etc., cf. sub Hombron). Together with the latter he published the zoological and botanical results of the expedition. Was admitted as a doctor in 1848, and practised at Nevers. Brother of the commander of La Zélée (see J.B. Hombron).
