Born: 1922, Leeuwarden, Fr., Holland.

 

career:

Botanist, educated at Groningen and Leiden Universities; Ph.D. degree Leiden 1952; Botanist Flora Malesiana Foundation, 1949-52; since 1952 Systematic Botanist with the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation, Division of Land Research and Regional Survey, Canberra, A.C.T. Later Principal Research Officer C.S.I.R.O. Land Research; in 1968 he accepted the post of Senior Research Fellow in the Research School of Biological Sciences, Canberra. Early 1969 he visited Ceylon in connection with the Flora of Ceylon Project.

Author of a paper on Mt Wilhelm.1

Evodiella hooglandii van der Linden has been named after him.
