Villamil, A.

(Source: Flora Malesiana ser. 1, 1: Cyclopaedia of collectors)

Filipino, in the service of the Forestry Department of British North Borneo, collected a small but interesting herbarium, chiefly of commercial trees, in Br. N. Borneo (the dates known ranging from Aug. 1915 to Sept. 1917).

Possibly he is identical with the Villamil who collected in the Philippines on behalf of the F.B. series of the Forestry Bureau, Manila (see there).

Timonius villamild Merr. and other Philippine plants were named after him.

Herb. Manila [PNH]: 286 Borneo plants collected with Foxworthy (pres. 1916), 283 ditto with Agama and Wood (pres. 1917). In Herb. Taihoku [TAI]: 1 specim. from Borneo.
