Wolff von Wülfing, Hermann Ernst

Born: 1891, Mr Cornelis, Java. Died: 1945, in Japanese civilian camp at Ambarawa, Centr. Java.

 

career:

Was educated at Wageningen Agricultural College (Holland), and subsequently joined the D.E. Indian Forest Service in 1915. In 1915-16 he was stationed in the Java teak districts at Salatiga, Djembolo, Poerwodadi (Sinawah) and Moenoeng (near Djombang); since December 1916 working in the Forest Research Institute Buitenzorg, of which he was Director since 1932.

In 1933 he took his doctorate at Wageningen. Besides his thesis he wrote several other sylvicultural statistical papers.

Java: Pekalongan-Kendal (Apr.); Margasari (with L.P. Weeda in Oct., alone in Dec.).-1920. Margasari (Jan.-March).-1921. Pajaman Forestry (possibly in 1920); Noesa Kambangan (S of Centr. Java) (March);1 Djembolo (May).-1923. E. Java: Kediri, Gadoengan, etc. (May).
